Job summary

MECCA Brands is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our Payroll team on a fixed-term contract ending January 2028, delivering accurate, compliant payroll for MECCA team members across Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you’ll coordinate end-to-end payroll activities, manage lifecycle events, reconciliations, and statutory reporting, while coaching junior staff and identifying process improvements across multi-site operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior or complex payroll role, with multi-site exposure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely and compliant end-to-end payroll across Australia and New Zealand.
• Manage payroll activities across the employee lifecycle: onboarding, remuneration changes, leave, allowances, deductions, benefits and terminations.
• Complete payroll reconciliations, month-end/year-end activities, statutory reporting and audit support.
• Resolve complex payroll enquiries and coach Payroll Officers and Administrators.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and strengthen controls.
