Perigon Group is partnering with an established not-for-profit organisation to recruit a Senior Payroll Officer on a permanent basis. Joining a collaborative payroll team, you’ll take ownership of a complex fortnightly payroll and support colleagues while contributing to ongoing process improvements.

The role requires end-to-end payroll processing, strong Award interpretation (SCHADS EA preferred), data reconciliations, employee changes and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end payroll for medium–large organisations.
• Strong interpretation of Awards and Enterprise Agreements (SCHADS preferred).
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Clear communication and practical, collaborative approach.

Responsabilités

• End-to-end fortnightly payroll processing to deadlines.
• Interpret Awards and EA clauses including penalties and allowances.
• Review payroll data, reconcile, and investigate discrepancies.
• Process employee changes, terminations and payroll adjustments.
• Support superannuation processing and payroll reporting.
• Respond to employee and manager queries.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.

Joining a collaborative payroll team, you’ll take ownership of a complex fortnightly payroll, support colleagues and contribute to ongoing process improvements.

The Role:

• Managing end-to-end payroll processing accurately and within deadlines.
• Interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements, including penalties, overtime and allowances.
• Reviewing payroll data, completing reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Processing employee changes, terminations and other payroll adjustments.
• Supporting superannuation processing and payroll reporting.
• Responding to employee and manager queries.
• Providing guidance to less experienced team members.
• Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.

The Requirements:

• Experience managing a complex payroll within a medium to large organisation.
• Strong Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation skills, ideally including the SCHADS Award.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and take ownership of resolving issues.
• Confidence using payroll and time and attendance systems.
• Clear communication skills and a friendly, practical approach.
• Comfortable supporting colleagues and managing competing deadlines.

• Up to $95,000 + Super + Salary Packaging
