Scotford Fennessy Recruitment is assisting a West Perth-based mining company to recruit a Senior Payroll Officer. You will own the end-to-end payroll for around 250 employees and provide support across accounts payable and broader finance operations.

You'll operate in a collaborative, high-performing team with flexible working arrangements and a focus on accuracy and confidentiality, ideally with Pronto ERP experience and strong stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

THE OPPORTUNITY

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a well-established mid-tier mining company based in West Perth. You'll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for a workforce of approximately 250 employees while also providing support across accounts payable and broader finance operations. WHAT YOU BRING

• Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in a standalone or senior payroll capacity.
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, awards, and compliance requirements.
• Experience processing payroll within a medium-sized organisation.
• High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical payroll deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support wider finance team responsibilities.
• Experience assisting with Accounts Payable and general finance administration.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using Pronto ERP will be highly regarded.
• Mining, resources, engineering, or related industry experience will be advantageous.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 250 employees.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time in accordance with relevant legislation and company policies.
• Maintain employee payroll records and payroll-related reporting.
• Manage payroll reconciliations, PAYG, superannuation, and payroll compliance obligations.
• Respond to payroll queries and provide excellent internal customer service to employees and managers.
• Support month-end processes and payroll-related reporting requirements.
• Assist with Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing and supplier management.
• Provide support across broader finance functions as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiencies within payroll and finance.
• Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
