Job summary

Federal Court of Australia is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to manage day-to-day entitlements, salaries, and superannuation for staff and judges. You will work with Aurion, run reports, and liaise with external providers and agencies.

The role requires public sector payroll experience and strong stakeholder engagement. You will support the payroll function across multiple jurisdictions, contribute to process improvements, and ensure accurate salary coding and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering payroll services in a public sector environment.
• Experience interpreting legislation and policies related to payroll.
• Ability to provide high-level payroll advice and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Administer and process payroll transactions including leave, superannuation and salary packaging.
• Support outsourced payroll provider and reconcile fortnightly and monthly payrolls.
• Prepare reports from Aurion and assist with annual reporting and Senate Estimates.
• Provide guidance to managers and staff on payroll entitlements and coding.
• Develop and document payroll procedures and participate in improvement projects.
