Job summary

Scotford Fennessy is recruiting a Senior Payroll professional for our West Perth office. This permanent full-time role covers end-to-end payroll, payroll governance, and support for Accounts Payable within a collaborative finance team.

You will work with an external payroll provider, HR and Finance to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing, while identifying process improvements and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll.
  • Strong payroll compliance, reconciliations and payroll tax knowledge.
  • General ledger and month-end payroll accounting exposure.
  • Accounts Payable experience, willingness to support the wider finance team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full Australian working rights.
  • Mining industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own payroll governance and end-to-end processing in collaboration with an external provider.
  • Review and validate payroll prior to finalisation.
  • Manage payroll enquiries and discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll journals, leave provision journals and incentive journals.
  • Handle payroll tax preparation and compliance.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and GL integration.
  • Prepare audit documentation and support statutory reporting.
  • Provide support across Accounts Payable and wider finance activities.
  • Manage supplier reconciliations, payment run support and AP mailbox.
  • Identify and implement payroll and finance process improvements.

  • Senior Payroll role with AP support, West Perth office-based position
  • Permanent full-time opportunity with a growing ASX-listed gold producer

An opportunity to join a growing ASX-listed gold producer, this role is responsible for the accurate, timely and compliant operation of payroll while providing support to the Accounts Payable function.

Working closely with an external payroll provider, HR and Finance, you will take ownership of payroll governance, reconciliations and compliance, while assisting with AP activities and broader finance support in a collaborative team environment.

Core functions of the role include:
  • Internal ownership of the payroll function, working closely with an external payroll provider
  • Reviewing and validating payroll prior to finalisation
  • Managing payroll enquiries and resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Preparing payroll journals, leave provision journals and incentive journals
  • Payroll tax preparation and compliance
  • Payroll reconciliations, leave liability analysis and general ledger integration
  • Preparing audit documentation and supporting statutory reporting requirements
  • Providing ongoing support across Accounts Payable and wider finance activities
  • Supplier reconciliations, payment run support and AP mailbox management
  • Identifying and implementing payroll and finance process improvements
About you

You are an experienced Payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership of payroll while working closely with Finance and HR in a collaborative environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll
  • Strong payroll compliance, reconciliations and payroll tax knowledge
  • General ledger and month-end payroll accounting exposure
  • Accounts Payable experience, willingness to support the wider finance team outside payroll
