Job summary

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service is seeking collaborative leaders across Nursing, Health Practitioner and Administrative Governance to advance patient safety. You’ll translate complex data into safer bedside care, working within a multidisciplinary team with strong mentorship and professional autonomy.

The role focuses on incident investigations, governance advice, data-driven safety improvements and educational capability building across CQ health services.

Qualifications

• You are appointable as a Health Practitioner, Registered Nurse or Administration Officer – with the relevant qualification, registration or experience.
• You possess high-level analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex clinical and operational issues.
• You are a clear and influential communicator, capable of engaging effectively with senior management and clinical teams.
• You demonstrate a proven ability to lead quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
• You have a deep understanding of clinical governance frameworks and NSQHS Standards.
• You are committed to ongoing professional learning and education.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate comprehensive patient safety activities and incident investigations across the health service.
• Provide expert advice and governance support to clinical teams to ensure high standards of quality and safety.
• Analyse complex clinical data to identify emerging risks and drive evidence-based practice improvements.
• Facilitate educational sessions and capability building to foster a proactive safety culture.
• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to implement policy changes and clinical innovations.
