Job summary

Barwon Health is seeking a Senior Experienced clinician to become the Acting Clinical Consultant – Pathology Program. You will work with the Chief Medical Officer and Pathology Program Manager to provide oversight and leadership for high-quality pathology services at Barwon Health.

Responsibilities include guiding operational management, coordinating guidelines development, and ensuring services are delivered efficiently and with multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) or relevant tertiary qualification in science or biomedical/medical laboratory science.
• Demonstrated clinical excellence with extensive experience in the clinical setting.
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments and manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight, operational management, leadership and development in the delivery of Pathology services to Barwon Health.
• Act as primary source for operational communication between Pathology providers and Barwon Health ensuring continuous Pathology services.
• Promote best practice and educational resources in Pathology service provision, test ordering and management.
• Coordinate the development, review and implementation of clinical guidelines and procedures located on Clinical Practice on the document control system.
• Ensure documented processes and procedures include multidisciplinary consultation and are evidence based with a focus on consumer centred care.
• Ensure accurate, timely completion of work in line with Barwon Health policies, while maintaining communication with the Pathology Program Manager.
• Oversee Pathology service delivery by monitoring performance and supporting clinical leads to manage resources effectively.
