Job summary

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District in Blue Mountains Hospital, Katoomba, is seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist to lead paediatric assessments and neonatal feeding and swallowing care within the Child and Adolescent Health Team.

The role focuses on delivering evidence-based paediatric services, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and providing expert assessment and management for swallowing and feeding in neonates, while supporting families throughout development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or post graduate degree in speech pathology enabling membership of Speech Pathology Australia or equivalent.
• Extensive post-graduate paediatric clinical experience including feeding/dysphagia and developmental assessments.
• Experience with autism spectrum disorders and pragmatic communication disorders in paediatric populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality paediatric speech pathology services.
• Lead assessments and family-centred interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support complex caseloads.
• Specialist services for paediatric swallowing and feeding in neonates and infants.
• Contribute to quality improvement and supervision of junior staff.
