Job summary

Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) at Perth Children’s Hospital is seeking a Senior Social Worker to support children and families facing health-related challenges. You will apply clinical skills to understand emotional, social, and psychological needs and work with families dealing with diagnosis, disability, trauma and bereavement.

You will collaborate in a multidisciplinary team, provide counselling and advocacy, and contribute to staff education while supporting social work students

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers is a requirement for this role.
• Experience in paediatric settings is preferred.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to support children and families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and carry out interventions with patients and their families as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide counselling, advocacy and support to families to access additional services.
• Offer education and training to families and staff on relevant clinical practice topics.
• Participate in clinical supervision of Social Workers and social work students.
