Job summary

SA Health's Women and Children's Health Network is seeking a physiotherapist to join the Paediatric Chronic Pain Service. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to assess, design, and implement treatment plans for children with complex pain conditions, delivering education and self-management strategies.

The role emphasizes high-level professional judgement, patient-centred care and evidence-based practice, with a focus on paediatric chronic pain and family engagement in care.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia is required.
• Experience with initiating, implementing and evaluating service improvement activities.
• Experience or strong interest related to chronic pain.
• Experience in managing complex clinical situations.
• Advanced ability to implement patient centred and evidence based practice.
• Ability to independently apply a high level of professional judgement relevant to paediatric chronic pain.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evaluate physiotherapy services associated with the Paediatric Chronic Pain Service.
• Use high-level professional knowledge to manage referrals, assessments and develop intervention plans within an interdisciplinary team.
• Manage complex cases autonomously in collaboration with the team.
• Engage young people and families in understanding persistent pain using the biopsychosocial framework.
• Provide clinical supervision to AHP2 Physiotherapists.
