Job summary

Arnhem Allied Health Centre is seeking a senior occupational therapist to deliver high-quality OT services across clinic, community, and remote settings in Nhulunbuy and East Arnhem Land. You will work within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to ongoing development and quality improvement, guided by a structured 100-day onboarding program and a commitment to culturally respectful care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Minimum two years of clinical OT experience.
• Demonstrated experience delivering OT services to NDIS participants (essential).
• Experience working with paediatric clients (essential).
• Ability to work confidently and autonomously across clinic, community and remote settings.
• Strong relationship-building and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Client-centred approach and commitment to understanding and achieving individual goals.
• Respectful and culturally responsive approach to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
• Ability and willingness to travel independently to remote East Arnhem Land communities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments that consider cultural, functional and individual needs of clients, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
• Develop and maintain accurate clinical records, including assessment findings, therapy plans and progress notes.
• Provide evidence-based interventions to support independence, functional capacity and participation in everyday activities.
• Develop individualised therapy plans and use appropriate therapeutic techniques and equipment.
• Collaborate with physiotherapists, speech pathologists and other healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement.
• Review client progress, adapt therapy plans and participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Deliver culturally respectful services across Nhulunbuy and remote East Arnhem Land communities.
