Job summary

Metro Trains Sydney is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer - Network to join our Engineering and Maintenance Delivery team. You will manage operational technology and network systems, collaborating with Cybersecurity to respond to alerts and strengthen resilience so passengers travel with confidence.

In this role you will configure and troubleshoot OT networking, implement cyber controls, develop system documentation and diagrams, and work with cross-functional teams and subcontractors to deliver

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience ideally from rail, critical systems or service provider networks.
• Cisco syntax and Cisco-like devices are mandatory.
• Exposure to cybersecurity events is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot networking infrastructure in an OT environment.
• Develop, implement and maintain cybersecurity controls for OT environments.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including diagrams and configurations.
• Collaborate with Cyber, IT, operations, maintenance and safety teams.
• Experience with VLANs, MPLS, VRFs and VPLS.
• Experience with ERPS and RSTP ring networks.
• Configure routing technologies such as OSPF and BGP.
• Work with subcontractors and understand change management processes.
