Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of system administration experience with hands-on OpenShift/Kubernetes
• Extensive Kubernetes experience including networking, security, storage, and troubleshooting
• Experience with enterprise OpenShift/Kubernetes cluster operations: configuration, monitoring, upgrades, lifecycle management
• Strong knowledge of supporting infrastructure components (compute, networking, storage, DNS, load balancers, certificates, identity services)
• Ability to automate tasks and improve platform consistency and reliability
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills; able to explain complex issues to technical and non‑technical audiences
• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience; experience in large ICT environments and Kubernetes"

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure and maintain on-premises OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters
• Perform cluster installation, upgrades, patching and lifecycle management
• Monitor platform health, capacity and performance; proactively resolve issues
• Troubleshoot OpenShift/Kubernetes and infra issues (networking, storage, DNS, load balancers, certificates, identity services)
• Manage OpenShift operators, nodes, workloads and platform policies
• Develop automation and IaC using Ansible, Helm, Terraform and Python where relevant
• Support containerised deployments via CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices
• Collaborate with developers, security and architecture teams to implement platform improvements
• Lead complex changes following enterprise change, incident and configuration management processes
• Analyse incident trends and metrics to drive continuous improvement
• Contribute to monitoring, logging, alerting, disaster recovery and platform resilience
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers
