Job summary

Services Australia seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead OpenShift/Kubernetes administration and platform automation. The role focuses on on-prem and cloud-integrated OpenShift environments, with strong emphasis on security, performance and governance within a government context.

The candidate will mentor junior staff, drive technical delivery, and collaborate with security, application and architecture teams to ensure stable operations and compliant infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a large-scale ICT environment with OpenShift/Kubernetes administration.
• Experience delivering OpenShift/Kubernetes platform changes and security/compliance.
• Knowledge of ISM, Essential 8 and government security practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure and maintain on-premises Red Hat OpenShift environments.
• Perform cluster installation, upgrades, patching, maintenance and lifecycle work.
• Monitor health and performance; troubleshoot complex OpenShift/Kubernetes issues.
• Develop automation for platform administration using Ansible, GitOps and IaC.
• Lead projects, mentor engineers and coordinate with security and architecture teams.
