Job summary

Australian Human Rights Commission – Sydney NSW is seeking a Senior Officer to provide strategic leadership for governance, planning, performance reporting, knowledge management and organisational learning.

You will support the Chief Executive and Commissioners to meet statutory and organisational obligations through governance frameworks and planning processes, enabling evidence-informed decision making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High level understanding of governance, strategic planning and performance reporting in a public sector or comparable environment.
• Understanding of PGPA Act and related governance guidance.
• Strong analytical skills for data, performance information and reporting metrics.
• Ability to provide strategic leadership in a complex environment.
• Project management skills to manage priorities and deliver outcomes.
• Exceptional relationship management with diverse stakeholders.
• Clear, confident and articulate communication skills.
• Desirable qualifications in public policy, governance, or knowledge management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning).
• Maintain governance, quality assurance and accountability frameworks to support PGPA Act compliance.
• Lead development and review of strategic planning, reporting and performance measurement frameworks.
• Coordinate organisation-wide planning with staff to align priorities and performance reporting.
• Lead development and continuous improvement of organisational performance and learning frameworks.
• Provide technical assistance on planning, data collection, instrument development, analysis and reporting.
• Promote knowledge sharing to support organisational learning.
• Collaborate with Senior Executives and Strategic Communications to leverage data analytics for impact and outcomes.
• Monitor emerging developments and good practice in performance measurement and public sector accountability.
