Job summary

Forensicare’s senior occupational therapist role at Thomas Embling Hospital in Melbourne delivers advanced OT assessments and interventions, supports complex mental health needs, and leads group programs. Qualifications

• Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia.
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
• The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential.
• Extensive experience in mental health or forensic settings.
• Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervision experience.
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and systemic advocacy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

About the Role

Join Forensicare as a Senior Occupational Therapist and play a critical role in delivering advanced occupational therapy services within Victoria’s specialist forensic mental health service. This parental leave cover opportunity is based at Thomas Embling Hospital, where you will support consumers with complex mental health needs to achieve meaningful engagement in daily life, improve functional independence and progress towards successful community reintegration. As a senior clinician, you will provide expert assessment and intervention, contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, and provide leadership, supervision and support to junior staff within a multidisciplinary environment.
