Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Adelaide is seeking a Senior Safety Case Engineer to support the delivery of complex naval nuclear programmes. You will develop and deliver nuclear safety cases and safety assurance activities across project lifecycles, working with specialists across Australia, the UK and our global business to achieve safety-critical outcomes.

In this role you will lead documentation, engage regulators and clients, mentor graduates, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, physics or a relevant STEM discipline.
• Experience delivering nuclear safety case or safety assurance activities.
• Experience in nuclear, defence or other highly regulated industries.
• Progress toward Chartered status or Chartered Engineer status.
• Strong technical problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Willingness to mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of safety case documentation and supporting analyses.
• Deliver nuclear safety assessments across project lifecycle stages.
• Support engagement with clients, regulators and technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to hazard identification, risk assessment and safety substantiation.
• Review and assure technical deliverables produced by project teams.
• Support and mentor graduate and early-career engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project outcomes.
