Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to design, implement and optimise secure enterprise network infrastructure supporting critical services. You will lead security investigations, contribute to a major network modernisation program, and work with engineering, project teams and vendors to ensure secure, reliable operations.

The role sits within the Network & Telecommunications Platform (NTP) team, reporting to the Network Services Lead.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience (typically 7+ years) in supporting and maintaining complex enterprise network security environments.
• Strong technical expertise across network security technologies including NGFW, BGP, WAF, IPS/IDS, VPN, traffic engineering, load balancing, web proxy and remote access solutions.
• Knowledge of Australian Government security frameworks, including the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
• Experience working within highly available 24/7 operational environments.
• Experience applying systems engineering, governance and change management principles.
• Proven ability to identify, investigate and mitigate security vulnerabilities and security incidents.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound recommendations and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain and continuously improve secure enterprise network infrastructure.
• Provide specialist expertise across network security technologies and lead technical investigations.
• Contribute to major transformation initiatives and partner with engineering, project delivery, vendors and stakeholders.
• Ensure security, reliability and compliance outcomes are achieved.
• Participate in an on-call roster to support critical network faults and incidents.
