Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, configure, troubleshoot and support its core Cisco-based network in a highly regulated environment. You will lead initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires 7+ years in complex networks, strong Cisco skills, change control experience, excellent communication and a willingness to participate in an on-call roster. Australian citizenship and NV1 clearance are required.

Qualifications

• More than 7 years’ experience supporting complex network infrastructure environments.
• Demonstrated experience in network engineering, systems engineering and change control processes.
• Strong Cisco networking capabilities: routing, switching, design, configuration, troubleshooting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop solutions and improvements.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative team.
• Diploma or higher qualification in IT, Engineering or related field.
• Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.
• Exposure to ITIL/ISM/ISO 27001/ COBIT standards is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, troubleshoot and provide ongoing support for Airservices’ core network environment.
• Collaborate with engineers, project teams and security specialists across the organisation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
• Participate in an on-call roster and occasional onsite support for projects.
• Maintain high reliability, security and performance of critical infrastructure.
