Decipher Bureau in Canberra is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to own secure network solutions end to end for federal and enterprise clients. You will design, implement and hand over complex components and act as a trusted technical advisor on security trade-offs.

The role emphasizes hands-on delivery across NGFW, LAN/WLAN, SD-WAN and SSE, mentoring engineers, and shaping security posture with modern tools. Flexible hybrid work and clear path to Principal Consultant are offered.

Formación

• 4+ years of hands-on, senior-level networking experience.
• Integrator or consultancy background delivering across multiple clients and environments.
• NV1 or NV2 clearance preferred (baseline considered).
• Strong grasp of routing and switching fundamentals, plus overlay/VPN tech and segmentation.
• Clear path to Principal Consultant; training and certification bonuses available.

Responsabilidades

• Authoring high-level and detailed designs aligned to business and technical requirements.
• Leading delivery of complex solution components across multiple workstreams.
• Hands-on work across NGFW, LAN/WLAN, datacentre, SD-WAN/SASE/SSE, NAC and WAF/load balancing.
• Advising clients on best-of-breed technology choices and security posture.
• Mentoring junior engineers and lifting the team’s technical knowledge.

The role

You’ll join a high-performing secure networks team, delivering project-based work for federal and enterprise clients. You’ll own solutions end to end, from HLD through LLD, implementation and handover. You’ll also be a trusted technical advisor, guiding clients through trade-offs, decisions and risk.

Location: Canberra, with flexible hybrid working.

What you’ll be doing

You don’t need all of it. Deep expertise in 1-2 of these areas is what matters.
