Job summary

AusNet is seeking a Senior Engineer, Network Safety in Melbourne to lead network safety strategy for Asset Management. The role focuses on preventing asset failures, with an emphasis on fire prevention and community safety, while coordinating with the Safety Regulator and regulators.

Qualifications

• Extensive demonstrated experience in technical/engineering roles within utilities with asset management/operational management.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety outcomes.
• Understanding of asset management leading practices, frameworks and standards.
• Understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and legislation.
• Ability to lead and coordinate failure and incident investigations.
• Knowledge of equipment and technologies with focus on poles and conductor equipment in distribution networks.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data-driven insights for asset performance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor adherence to Bushfire Mitigation and Electricity Safety Management Scheme regulations and develop plans to achieve 100% compliance.
• Analyse electrical safety of network assets and develop mitigation plans.
• Develop and maintain asset management strategies, plans and procedures including predictive maintenance and data analytics initiatives.
• Assess asset risk profiles and develop mitigation plans and business cases for distribution assets.
• Lead compliance obligations, engaging regulators and monitoring performance.
• Influence asset management and planning processes including fault analysis, risk modelling and weather impact considerations.
• Provide strategic leadership for Bushfire mitigation, ESMS and safety obligations, with contingency planning.
