Job summary

Michael Page Australia is seeking a Senior Network & Security Engineer to drive a Fortinet SASE and Zero Trust transformation in the Sydney public sector.

Design, implement, and manage secure network solutions; monitor performance; resolve issues; mentor juniors; and stay ahead of evolving security technologies. This temporary role offers a daily rate up to 1100 AUD, with opportunities to contribute to high-impact public sector projects, based in Sydney.

Qualifications

• Strong technical expertise in Fortinet SASE technologies and network security.
• Proven experience in designing and managing secure network infrastructures.
• Knowledge of firewall management, VPNs, and other security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage secure network solutions with a focus on SASE technologies.
• Monitor and optimise network performance to ensure reliable and secure connectivity.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network and security-related issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with organisational security policies.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential threats.
• Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls and VPNs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Stay updated on emerging network and security technologies relevant to the public sector.
