Job summary

For Purpose Aged Care is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead design, delivery and optimisation of our Australia-wide network infrastructure, ensuring secure, scalable and resilient services that support care delivery nationwide.

Reporting to the Head of Cloud & Infrastructure, you will mentor engineers, drive large-scale projects and provide advanced technical support while maintaining documentation and standards across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Proven enterprise-scale network design and implementation experience.
• Experience across on-premises and cloud networking environments.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching and network security practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and support of enterprise physical and cloud networks.
• Deliver migrations, upgrades and transformation projects.
• Ensure performance, availability and security of the network.
• Provide Level 3 support for complex incidents.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices.
• Maintain documentation and operational processes.

Join FPAC as a Senior Network Engineer and help shape the future of our Australia-wide network infrastructure during an exciting period of growth and transformation. Reporting to the Head of Cloud & Infrastructure, you'll lead the design, delivery and optimisation of both on-premises and cloud networking environments, ensuring secure, scalable and resilient services that support care delivery across the country.

Why this role matters:

As the Senior Network Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead for FPAC's networking environments, providing expertise across on-premises and cloud infrastructure. You'll lead large-scale projects, mentor team members, and provide advanced technical support while ensuring the ongoing performance, availability, and security of the network.

What you will be doing:

• Lead the design, implementation and support of enterprise physical and cloud networks.
• Deliver network migrations, upgrades, greenfield deployments and transformation projects.
• Ensure network performance, availability, security and resilience.
• Provide Level 3 support for complex incidents and major outages.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors and technology partners.
• Drive networking best practices and adoption of modern technologies.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Maintain documentation, standards and operational processes.
• Travel to sites as required.

About You

You are an experienced network professional with strong technical expertise across enterprise and cloud environments. You enjoy solving complex problems, leading projects, and working closely with stakeholders at all levels.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale network solutions across on-premises and cloud environments. Strong knowledge of:
• Routing & Switching
• BGP and IPSec VPNs
• SD-WAN
• Enterprise Wireless
• Network Security
• Hands-on experience with FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiAP.
• Comfortable working hands-on with physical infrastructure, including rack and stack, cabling, patching, and network equipment deployment
• Experience with Azure networking.
• Strong understanding of network security best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence or similar tools.
• Willingness to travel as required

Qualifications & Certifications

• Extensive experience in Network Engineering, Consulting or Architecture roles. Proven experience in Azure networking.
• Desirable certifications:
• Fortinet NSE 4-7 (or equivalent)
• Azure Network Engineer Associate

Mandatory Requirements

• Current National Police Check or willing to obtain
• Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or valid Australian work rights.
