Job summary

Clicks IT Recruitment (VIC) is seeking an experienced Senior Network / Data Centre Engineer to join a major data centre build and transformation program in Melbourne. This role demands hands-on expertise in large-scale data centre environments and readiness to contribute from day one.

The position is hybrid, based in Clayton, with some data centre work and after-hours support. Key skills include Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus/NX-OS, VXLAN/EVPN, Nexus Dashboard, Cisco MDS SAN and BGP, with Citrix

Qualifications

• Requires strong hands-on experience in large-scale data centre environments.
• Must contribute from day one in a major data centre build and transformation program.
• Experience working with Cisco ACI/NX-OS and related data centre networking technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the broader networking team and external vendors to support the data centre project.
• Contribute to design and implementation work during early design stages and beyond.
• Occasional after-hours support and hands-on operational activity as required.

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Network / Data Centre Engineer to join a major data centre build and transformation program.

This isn’t a generalist network engineering role. We’re looking for someone who has spent significant time working in large-scale data centre environments and can come in ready to contribute from day one.

You’ll support a significant data centre project currently in its early design stages, working across the broader networking team and alongside external vendors. The environment is heavily Cisco-based, with a longer-term transition from Cisco ACI toward NX-OS forming part of the technology direction. Some operational activity will also be required alongside the project work.

What you’ll bring

We’re particularly interested in strong hands‑on experience across:

• Cisco ACI
• Cisco Nexus / NX-OS
• VXLAN / EVPN
• Nexus Dashboard
• Cisco MDS SAN
• BGP
• Large-scale Data Centre networking environments

Experience with Citrix NetScaler / load balancing would also be highly regarded.

Additional experience that would be useful includes

• NVIDIA / Cumulus Linux switching and EVPN
• BIND DNS
• Smartoptics MUX
• AWS networking [Monash University | OneNote]

This is a hybrid role primarily based in Clayton, with data centre work also required from time to time. Some after‑hours work will be required.
