Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Senior Data Centre Engineer for a 12-month contract based in Melbourne. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale data centre environments with Cisco ACI, Nexus NX-OS, VXLAN/EVPN, Nexus Dashboard, Cisco MDS SAN, and Citrix NetScaler.

You will work within a highly skilled team on a major infrastructure program, providing after-hours support as needed to deliver project milestones.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience working as a Data Centre Engineer within large enterprise environments.
• Proven hands-on experience with Cisco ACI, Nexus NX-OS, VXLAN/EVPN, Nexus Dashboard, Cisco MDS SAN, Citrix NetScaler.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise across Cisco-based data centre environments and associated infrastructure platforms.
• Assist with migration, deployment, and optimisation activities within data centre environments.
• Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with project teams, infrastructure specialists, and operational support teams.
• Contribute to documentation, technical standards, and operational procedures.
• Ensure infrastructure solutions are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned to best practice.

Senior Data Centre Engineer (12-Month Contract)

Our client is a large and complex enterprise environment undergoing significant investment in its core infrastructure and data centre capabilities. With a strong focus on innovation, scalability, and operational excellence, they are delivering major infrastructure initiatives that support critical business services across multiple locations.

This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled team working on a large-scale data centre build project, leveraging modern networking technologies and enterprise-grade platforms.

About the Role

This is a specialist role suited to an engineer with deep data centre expertise rather than a generalist infrastructure background. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute immediately, bringing extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale data centre environments.

The position will primarily support the project, with some operational support responsibilities as required. Occasional after-hours work will also be required to support project delivery and infrastructure changes.

Key Responsibilities

Essential

• Extensive experience working as a Data Centre Engineer within large enterprise environments.
• Proven hands-on experience with:

  • Nexus Dashboard
  • Cisco MDS SAN
  • Citrix NetScaler
• Strong data centre networking design, implementation, and troubleshooting capability.
• Experience delivering infrastructure projects within large and complex environments.

Desirable

Experience with any of the following technologies will be highly regarded:

• NVIDIA / Cumulus Linux Switching
• EVPN in Cumulus environments
• BIND DNS
• SmartOptics MUX solutions
• AWS Networking
