Job summary

Slade Group seeks a Senior Data Centre Engineer in Melbourne for a 12-month contract to support a major data centre build. The role covers design, build and migration of network infrastructure, with some operational support in production environments and regular after-hours windows.

You will work with Cisco ACI, NX-OS VXLAN/EVPN, Nexus Dashboard, Cisco MDS SAN and Citrix NetScaler, plus NVIDIA/Cumulus Linux switching and AWS networking.

Qualifications

• Dedicated data centre specialist with many years of experience in large-scale DC environments.
• Hands-on expertise across Cisco ACI, NX-OS VXLAN/EVPN and Nexus Dashboard.
• Experience with Cisco MDS SAN and Citrix NetScaler.

Responsibilities

The Role

The role is focused on supporting the delivery of a large-scale data centre build, with some operational support across production environments as required. Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the design, build and migration of data centre network infrastructure


• Configuring and supporting Cisco ACI fabrics and NX-OS VXLAN/EVPN environments


• Managing Cisco MDS SAN switching and Citrix NetScaler platforms


• Using Nexus Dashboard for fabric visibility, operations and troubleshooting


• Providing operational support and incident resolution as required


• Participating in scheduled after-hours change windows


• Working closely with project, infrastructure and vendor teams to deliver to plan

About You

The successful candidate will be a dedicated data centre specialist with many years of experience in large-scale DC environments; general network or infrastructure experience alone will not be sufficient. You will have strong, hands-on expertise across:

• Cisco ACI


• Cisco NX-OS VXLAN/EVPN and Nexus Dashboard


• Cisco MDS SAN


• Citrix NetScaler

Experience with NVIDIA/Cumulus Linux switching and EVPN, BIND DNS, Smart Optics MUX and AWS networking will be highly regarded. You will be ready to contribute from day one, comfortable working hybrid with regular onsite and data centre attendance, and available for some after-hours work. The successful candidate will be subject to police and reference checks.
