The Trade Desk in Sydney seeks a Senior Software Engineer who blends deep networking expertise with software craftsmanship to shape next‑gen network automation across multi-cloud environments. You will own the health, performance, and resilience of an always-on platform spanning data centers and public clouds, collaborating with SRE and infrastructure teams.

You excel at TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF, and Kubernetes networking with Cilium/Calico, and enjoy building toolchains that reduce toil and boost

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of hands on network automation and production infra experience.
• Software-first mindset with strong development and networking skills.
• Deep expertise in TCP/IP, OSI, BGP and OSPF for large-scale networks.
• Hands-on Kubernetes networking with Cilium/Calico; CNIs knowledge.
• Experience with software load balancers (NGINX Ingress, Envoy, HAProxy).
• Troubleshooting and performance tuning in Kubernetes and Docker at scale.
• Infra-as-code and DevOps/SRE practices; test and deploy pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale a global network platform across multi-clouds.
• Support thousands of hosts with reliable, petabyte-scale data handling.
• Own troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex network issues.
• Lead postmortems and implement improvements for operational excellence.
• Eliminate toil by automating workflows and improving processes.
• Participate in a global on-call rotation to maintain network integrity.
