Job summary

SoftLabs, an Australian-owned, women-led Enterprise Software company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead to design, build and modernise cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platforms on .NET Core, Angular and Azure.

You will mentor engineers, shape architecture and own backend, frontend and cloud components, delivering secure, scalable solutions for enterprise customers. The role offers hybrid or remote work and the chance to drive engineering standards across teams.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of hands-on enterprise engineering.
• Deep .NET Core and Azure experience with recent Angular work.
• Strong Angular experience (Angular 14+), RxJS and NgRx/state management.
• Proven delivery of microservices, REST APIs and event-driven apps.
• Hands-on Azure: App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Hub, AKS, Key Vault, CallableGateways.
• Strong SQL Server / Azure SQL skills including data modelling and query optimisation.
• Secure design: JWT, Azure AD, SSL/DNS, RBAC, WAF-enabled gateways.
• Experience with Git or TFS and CI/CD pipelines.
• Clear communication with stakeholders and mentoring or leading developers.

Key responsibilities

You will own the technical design and delivery of backend, frontend and cloud components, and raise engineering standards across the team.

Design and build microservices and cloud-native APIs in .NET Core using Clean Architecture, CQRS/Mediator, dependency injection and async patterns.

Build modular Angular frontends with lazy loading, standalone components and shared UI libraries to keep first-load times fast.

Architect multi-tenant SaaS platforms, including secure authentication (JWT, Azure AD), API versioning and global exception handling.

Deliver and operate Azure solutions across App Services, API Management, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Hub, AKS, Key Vault and Application Gateway (WAF).

Design data and integration layers with SQL Server and Azure SQL, ETL pipelines in Azure Data Factory, and event-driven processing.

Improve performance through caching, async processing, background workers and query optimisation.

Lead cloud and datacentre migrations using Azure Migrate, ASR, DMS and SSMA, with structured readiness assessments.

Drive cost governance: rightsizing, autoscaling, tagging, automated shutdown and removal of unused workloads.

Mentor engineers, run code reviews, and set engineering best practices across teams.

Work with product owners and stakeholders to turn business needs into clear technical solutions.

Required skills and experience

Candidates need at least 10 years of hands‑on enterprise engineering, with deep .NET Core and Azure experience and recent Angular work.

10+ years building enterprise applications with .NET Core, .NET Framework and C#.

Strong Angular experience (Angular 14+), RxJS and state management patterns such as NgRx.

Proven delivery of microservices, REST APIs and event-driven applications.

Hands‑on Azure: App Services, API Management, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Hub, Storage, Key Vault and Azure Monitor.

Strong SQL Server and Azure SQL skills, including data modelling and query optimisation.

Secure design: JWT, Azure AD, SSL/DNS configuration, role‑based access and WAF‑enabled gateways.

Experience with Git or TFS and CI/CD pipelines.

Clear communication with stakeholders, and experience mentoring or leading developers.

Desirable skills and success measures

The strongest candidates add migration, cost‑optimisation and platform experience, and show measurable results.

Azure certifications (AZ-204, AZ-305 or AZ-400).

Kubernetes (AKS), Stream Analytics, IoT Hub or Azure Data Factory experience.

Migration tooling: Azure Migrate, ASR, DMS, SSMA, VMware and Hyper‑V.

Payment gateway integration and SaaS billing experience
