Job summary

Ballarat City Motorcycles in Delacombe, VIC seeks an experienced Motorcycle Mechanic to join the service department. The role involves dismantling engines, repairing magnetos and carburetors, and testing subassemblies.

The successful candidate should have Certificate III in Motorcycle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent), and ideally 3+ years of experience. Salary ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 depending on experience. Full-time hours.

Qualifications

Certificate III in Motorcycle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
Ideally 3+ years of experience as a Motorcycle Mechanic.
Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

Dismantle engines and repair or replace defective parts such as magnetos, carburetors and generators.
Remove cylinder heads, grind valves and replace defective valves, pistons, cylinders and rings using hand tools and power tools.
Repair or replace other parts such as headlights, horns, handlebar controls, gasoline and oil tanks, starters and mufflers.
Repair and adjust motorcycle subassemblies such as forks, transmissions, brakes and drive chains.
Replace defective parts using hand tools, arbor presses, or power tools.
Reassemble and test subassembly units.
Disassemble subassembly units and examine condition, movement or alignment of parts visually or with gauges.
