Job summary

Acusensus, an Australian technology company delivering road-safety solutions, seeks a Senior Mobile Speed Camera Operator to drive field operations and support a team. The role blends hands-on camera operation with leadership and coaching to raise safety and performance Standards.

You’ll work on a 24/7 roster, with national travel possible, and have opportunities to develop leadership capabilities toward regional management.

Qualifications

• Experience in a field-based, operational or mobile role with strong safety and compliance.
• Experience mentoring or training colleagues or the confidence to develop these skills.
• Strong safety mindset; identify hazards, assess risks and follow procedures.
• Comfort using technology, mobile apps, tablets and computer-based systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, remaining calm with the public.
• Good organisational skills, attention to detail and adaptability when plans change.
• Willingness to learn technical equipment and follow detailed operating procedures.
• Full Australian driver’s licence with a clean driving history.

Responsibilities

• Deliver field operations: safely set up, operate and pack down mobile speed camera equipment.
• Coach colleagues, share knowledge and help build consistent operational capability.
• Conduct safety checks and audits, identify hazards and follow up corrective actions.
• Monitor equipment readiness and assist with technical issues within approved guidelines.
• Review operational results, identify recurring errors and implement improvements.
• Support team planning and respond to staffing challenges to meet service and contract requirements.
• Communicate with the Network Operations Centre and operational leaders; provide clear briefings.
• Manage challenging interactions with members of the public, professionally and safely.
• Identify practical ways to improve safety, efficiency, equipment readiness and team performance.
• Provide leadership cover for the Regional Operations Manager when required.
