Job summary

MECCA Brands is seeking a Senior Mobile Developer to lead the mobile effort, leveraging React Native to deliver high-performance apps for iOS and Android. You will bridge native modules and optimise performance while collaborating with product, design and backend teams.

You will mentor peers, contribute to a modern CI/CD pipeline, and champion quality, security, and accessibility across our mobile platform in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mobile engineering experience, with strong production experience in React Native.
• Production experience with Expo, including Expo Modules and config plugins.
• Strong understanding of iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) native development.
• Experience building shared component libraries or design systems for mobile apps.
• Strong knowledge of mobile UI engineering, accessibility, and performance.
• Experience with server-state management (TanStack Query) and client-state libraries (Zustand).
• Experience writing automated tests for mobile apps (Detox, Maestro, Appium, Jest or RN Testing Library).
• CI/CD, Git workflows, feature flags, build automation, and delivery for mobile apps.
• Proven shipping apps to App Store and Google Play with release management and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance mobile applications using React Native with iOS/Android bridges.
• Ensure scalability, performance, accessibility, and security best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and QA to translate ideas into mobile experiences.
• Design integrations with backend systems and cloud services via REST APIs.
• Apply test-first mindset with unit, integration, and E2E tests.
• Enhance the CI/CD pipeline for fast, reliable releases.
• Profile and optimise app performance and fix issues.
• Implement mobile security measures (OAuth, JWT, biometrics) and privacy compliance.
• Contribute to code reviews, architecture discussions, and team learning.
