Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist to lead the Mobile Core Signalling domain in Sydney. You will design robust, secure, and scalable signalling solutions for 3G/4G/5G, aligning roadmaps with Optus objectives to keep the network high-performing and future-ready.

You will define future-state architectures, guide development standards, and own platform lifecycle from design to upgrade. Strong leadership and stakeholder collaboration are essential to drive innovation and maintain

Qualifications

• Subject-matter expertise in Mobile Core Signalling and related platforms.
• Strong technical proficiency with architectural principles and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to translate requirements into specs.
• Strong communication and collaboration with stakeholders, platform owners and PMs.
• Demonstrated leadership with the ability to mentor teams and secure buy-in.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design technology solutions within Mobile Core Signalling, aligned with Networks architecture and business needs.
• Define future-state architecture, roadmaps, and scalable development guidelines for the domain.
• Create platform documentation covering system integration, data flows, and interfaces to OSS/BSS and upstream IT systems.
• Own the signalling platform lifecycle from design to implementation and drive roadmaps/upgrades for reliability and efficiency.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and collaborate with vendors to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
• Ensure solutions comply with Optus and industry ICT, information, and cyber security standards.
