Job summary

SRA Information Technology in Canberra is seeking an experienced Senior Machine Learning Engineer to drive AI/ML initiatives across the full lifecycle, from experimentation to production deployment and optimisation.

You will collaborate with software engineers, ML specialists and business stakeholders to design, build and operationalise scalable AI capabilities that deliver real-world outcomes in a hybrid, multi-location environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering production AI and ML solutions.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Experience with NLP technologies and LLM solutions.
• Experience with MLOps and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy ML and AI solutions.
• Build and maintain production-grade ML capabilities.
• Contribute to AI experimentation and proof of concepts.
• Implement MLOps to support reliable, scalable delivery.
• Develop serverless cloud-based solutions and supporting infrastructure.
• Produce technical documentation and transfer knowledge.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver business outcomes.
