Job summary

Optimum Consulting seeks an experienced Mining Manager to lead on-site mining operations in Australia, reporting to the Site-Based Leader. You will be accountable for production, cost control and people, delivering the mine plan while building high-performing teams.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong production background, ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, and a data-driven approach to decision making.

Qualifications

• Strong production background in mining and a track record of hitting targets.
• Leadership experience at superintendent level or above.
• Sound knowledge of mine planning, scheduling and cost management.
• Data-driven approach to decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence people at all levels.
• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mining function to deliver safe, consistent production against plan and budget
• Drive productivity and equipment performance through strong short interval control and continuous improvement
• Lead, coach and develop superintendents, supervisors and operational teams
• Work closely with technical services, maintenance and the CHPP to improve performance across the whole operation
• Ensure compliance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and the site’s safety and health management system
• Manage budgets, forecasting and cost control for the mining operation
• Build a positive, accountable and safety-focused culture
