Job summary

Glencore's Hail Creek operation in Queensland seeks an experienced Senior Mining Engineer – Long Term Planning to develop and optimise long-term mine plans. Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in open cut coal mine planning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and optimize long-term mine plans in line with business strategy.
• Lead the life of mine planning (LOM) and 5 years budget planning process, including final pit shell design and production scheduling.
• Follow the long-term design process guidelines including sign-off sheets and GDAF forms.
• Involved in LOM and 5-year budget planning risk assessment.
• Verify scheduling and time usage model assumptions.
• Create final landform design including disturbance and rehabilitation planning.
• Assist with corporate reporting including NGERs.
• Collaborate with geologists and planners for plan integration.
• Identify opportunities to improve mine productivity and cost efficiency.
• Conduct scenario analysis and present recommendations to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, regulatory, and safety standards.
