Job summary

Macmahon is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to deliver practical mine plans and provide technical leadership across operations, maintenance and HSEQT. You will support plan execution, optimise mining activities and drive continuous improvement in a premier Australian open-cut environment.

The role requires a tertiary Mining Engineering degree and 4–5 years of relevant experience, with expertise in mine planning, scheduling and production support. 8:6 roster applies, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Degree in Mining Engineering with 4–5 years of practical mining experience.
• Experience in mine planning, design, scheduling and operations support in hard rock surface mining.
• Ability to lead technically and influence stakeholders for sound decision-making.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills with safety focus.
• Experience using Deswik and Xact planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mine planning, design, scheduling and drill and blast activities to support safe and efficient production outcomes.
• Provide technical engineering analysis and commercial support to optimise mining performance and decision-making.
• Maintain production reporting systems and contribute to budget, forecast and progress claim development.
• Engage with operations and project teams to drive plan compliance and achieve business objectives.
• Identify and drive improvement opportunities, contribute to engineering best practice and maintain a strong focus on safety.
