Job summary

Brunel in Perth seeks a Senior Application Specialist or Applications Team Lead to own and support mining applications. The role blends hands-on technical work with team leadership, mentoring and workload management for the applications team.

You'll troubleshoot across applications, databases and integrations, work with stakeholders and vendors, and guide improvements in performance, reliability and governance. Perth-based, with occasional site travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in application or systems support.
• Strong troubleshooting across business-critical applications.
• Hands-on SQL for querying data issues.
• Python or similar scripting for automation.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or Grafana.
• Understanding of data flows and integrations.
• Experience supporting incidents, upgrades and problem resolution.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical support across mining and operational applications.
• Act as escalation point for complex incidents and application issues.
• Troubleshoot across applications, databases, integrations and data platforms.
• Use SQL to investigate data and support performance.
• Use Python for automation and data processing.
• Support reporting and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Grafana).
• Investigate data flows from source systems to end-user reporting.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues.
• Support upgrades, changes and improvement initiatives.
• Translate stakeholder needs into technical solutions.
• Mentor and guide other team members.
• For Team Lead: coordinate priorities and workload.
