Job summary

The HR Ally is seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft 365 Developer to design, build, and support enterprise Microsoft 365 solutions across SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online and the Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance stack.

You will develop SPFx web parts with React and TypeScript, create Teams apps, automate workflows via Microsoft Graph API, and contribute to platform security with Defender, Purview and Sentinel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Microsoft 365 development and administration experience described in the role.
• Strong expertise in SharePoint Online development using SPFx, React, TypeScript, PnP Framework, and modern SharePoint architecture.
• Hands-on experience building Microsoft 365 apps and services including Teams, Graph API, and security tooling.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft 365 Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise Microsoft 365 solutions across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, and the Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance ecosystem.

In this role, you will develop modern collaboration solutions using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), build Microsoft Teams applications, automate workflows using Microsoft Graph API, and strengthen security through Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Sentinel. You will also provide L2/L3 platform support while contributing to platform improvements, automation, and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop SharePoint Online sites, hub sites, and enterprise collaboration solutions.
• Build SPFx web parts, extensions, and custom applications using React and TypeScript.
• Configure SharePoint content types, managed metadata, site columns, and enterprise content management capabilities.
• Develop Microsoft Teams applications including tabs, messaging extensions, bots, and Adaptive Cards.
• Build Teams bots using Azure Bot Service and Microsoft Copilot Studio.
• Administer Exchange Online including mailbox management, mail flow, connectors, and security policies.
• Configure and manage Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Sentinel security solutions.
• Develop Microsoft Graph API integrations for Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, and Entra ID automation.
• Create PowerShell automation for administration, provisioning, reporting, and operational tasks.
• Support Microsoft 365 platform security, Essential Eight maturity initiatives, and compliance requirements.
• Provide Level 2/Level 3 operational support, troubleshooting, and platform optimisation.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders while mentoring junior team members.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Microsoft 365 development and administration experience.
• Strong expertise in SharePoint Online development using SPFx, React, TypeScript, PnP Framework, and modern SharePoint architecture.
• Hands‑on experience developing Microsoft Teams applications using Teams Toolkit, Bot Framework SDK, Adaptive Cards, and Messaging Extensions.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, and Entra ID.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR), and Microsoft 365 security best practices.
• Experience developing integrations using Microsoft Graph API and REST APIs.
• Expertise in Entra ID administration including Conditional Access, MFA, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Identity Governance, and App Registrations.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Experience providing enterprise platform support in secure Microsoft 365 environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills

• Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, MS-500, or SC-200.
• Experience with Microsoft Syntex document processing and content assembly.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Viva (Connections, Insights, Learning).
• Experience with Azure Functions and Logic Apps for Microsoft 365 integrations.
• Familiarity with Essential Eight, Microsoft security best practices, and enterprise compliance frameworks.

Mandatory Requirements

• Active NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory.
• Australian Citizens with an active NV1 clearance only.
• Ability to work from Canberra (preferred) or Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
