Job summary

Perth Football Club, based at Mineral Resources Park, Lathlain WA, seeks a Senior Coach to lead the senior men’s football program in WAFL. You will set a clear football philosophy and game plan, maximise player strengths and drive performance while shaping culture built on respect, accountability and high performance.

Reporting to the General Manager of Football, you will develop players and coaches, build strong relationships across the Club, and recruit with the football department to pursue

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Coaching Accreditation minimum, with Level 3 completed or working towards preferred.
  • Recent senior or head coaching experience, with responsibility for leading your own team or football program.
  • Strong football knowledge and the ability to develop and implement a clear game plan.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop players and build a high-performing team environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.
  • Sound knowledge of high-performance principles, including sports science, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation and injury management.

  • Using vision and opposition analysis to sharpen the group each week.
  • Appointing, leading and developing your coaching and support staff.

  • Representing the Club with the Board, sponsors, media and supporters.

Established in 1899, Perth Football Club is one of Western Australia’s proudest and most historic football clubs.

Over the past three seasons, the Club has made significant progress on and off the field. Our senior men’s program has returned to consecutive finals campaigns, our playing group continues to develop, and there is a clear ambition across the football program to take the next step.

We are now seeking a Senior Coach capable of building on that momentum and leading Perth Football Club towards sustained success at WAFL level.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager of Football, you will lead the senior men’s football program, setting a clear football philosophy and game plan that maximises the strengths of the playing group and drives performance.

You will also play a key role in shaping the culture and standards of the program, creating an environment built on respect, accountability, connection and high performance. You will develop players and coaches, build strong relationships across the Club, and lead a program with the ambition to achieve sustained success at WAFL level.

Key responsibilities include:

Designing a game plan that plays to the strengths of our list, and a training program that brings it to life across preseason and the season.

About You

You are a driven football leader who combines strong coaching capability with the ability to bring people together. You are competitive, have a clear football philosophy and are committed to getting the best out of your players and those around you.

You set clear standards, communicate with purpose and build strong relationships. You are collaborative in your approach, accountable in your leadership and create an environment where players and coaches can develop, perform and succeed.

Level 2 Coaching Accreditation minimum, with Level 3 completed or working towards preferred.

Recent senior or head coaching experience, with responsibility for leading your own team or football program.

Strong football knowledge and the ability to develop and implement a clear game plan.

Demonstrated ability to develop players and build a high-performing team environment.

Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building skills.

Sound knowledge of high-performance principles, including sports science, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation and injury management.

Highly organised and accountable, with a clear understanding of the preparation and standards required to achieve sustained success.
