Avant Law is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Medico-Legal Advisory Service (MLAS) on a permanent part-time basis with hybrid arrangements. The role supports doctors through high-quality medico-legal advice, with flexible hours across Australia and a 4-day preference.

You will collaborate closely with MLAS leadership and teams, delivering telephone and written guidance, developing resources, and contributing to knowledge databases and member communications.

Formación

• At least 6-10 years’ PAE in the medico-legal space.
• Tertiary legal qualifications, with a current unsupervised practising certificate as a Solicitor in Australia.
• Appropriate telephone manner and confidence to manage difficult callers externally via a 24/7 medico-legal advice line.
• Effective listening and problem-solving skills (practical, empathetic, supportive).
• Collaborative, team‑oriented with strong time management.
• Up-to-date knowledge on medico-legal topics and health law issues desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver high quality medico-legal advice to Avant’s members, including telephone and written guidance.
• Support Avant Law and claims teams on medico-legal and health law matters.
• Collaborate with the Head of MLAS and other advisers on new resources and processes.
• Develop and maintain the health law knowledge database.
• Present to members and staff and contribute to website content and communications.
