Job summary

Meta seeks a Product Design Engineer to own and deliver high-impact mechanical systems from concept through mass production. You will mentor engineers and steer cross-functional teams across product lines, ensuring technically robust solutions that meet program goals.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience with complex assemblies, DFM/DFMA, and GD&T, and can navigate ambiguity while driving strategic direction in hardware development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of mechanical design experience with high-volume products or complex electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience leading design of complex assemblies from concept to production.
• Expertise in 3D/2D CAD, DFM/DFM, GD&T, material properties, and high-volume manufacturing techniques.
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and guiding work across teams.
• Experience contributing to product or technology roadmaps and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver complex, high-impact mechanical systems and architectures from concept to mass production.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers across teams.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive progress on cross-functional projects.
• Lead development through concept, prototyping, validation, and mass production.
• Champion best practices in design, analysis, and validation across projects.
• Push state-of-the-art technologies to solve mechanical problems in consumer electronics and robotics.
