Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Senior Mechanical & Piping Engineer to join our established team in Gladstone, Queensland. The role combines hands-on engineering delivery with client engagement across studies, brownfield upgrades, and detailed design in heavy industrial environments.

You will lead design activities, review technical documents, manage safety and project delivery, and mentor junior engineers while building relationships with clients and operators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• RPEQ registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
• Experience delivering brownfield studies, design, and site-based engineering projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, solve problems, and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and piping engineering activities from concept through detailed design and site implementation.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, datasheets, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
• Deliver practical brownfield solutions considering safety, constructability, operability, maintainability, cost, and schedule.
• Engage with clients, operators, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Conduct site visits to investigate issues, verify conditions, and support construction and commissioning activities.
• Manage technical quality, engineering risk, project budgets, and delivery commitments.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Identify operational challenges and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Represent the business professionally within the local market.
