Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• RPEQ registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
• Experience delivering mechanical and/or piping engineering in heavy industrial sectors.
• Experience delivering brownfield studies, design, and site-based projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and piping engineering activities from concept through detailed design and site implementation.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, datasheets, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
• Deliver brownfield solutions prioritising safety, constructability, operability and cost.
• Engage with clients, operators, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and support construction and commissioning.
• Manage technical quality, risk, budgets, and delivery commitments.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Build relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Identify operational challenges and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Represent the business professionally in the local market.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Mechanical & Piping Engineer to join an established engineering team in Gladstone. This role combines hands-on engineering delivery with client engagement, providing the opportunity to work across studies, brownfield upgrades, and detailed design projects within heavy industrial environments. This is a genuine client-facing role suited to an engineer who enjoys developing trusted relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering practical engineering solutions while remaining technically involved in project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and piping engineering activities from concept through detailed design and site implementation.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, datasheets, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
• Deliver practical brownfield solutions considering safety, constructability, operability, maintainability, cost, and schedule.
• Engage with clients, operators, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Conduct site visits to investigate issues, verify conditions, and support construction and commissioning activities.
• Manage technical quality, engineering risk, project budgets, and delivery commitments.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.

About You
