Qualifications

• Education: Relevant qualifications in metal trades.
• Experience: At least 10 years in fitting or similar mechanical role.
• Skills: Proficient in reading technical drawings and using precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing blueprints and specifications to select materials, methods and machine settings.
• Installing fabricated metal components into products and assembling parts.
• Inspecting parts for precision and clearance using precision measuring tools.
• Adjusting controls on machining equipment and setting up tools and dies.
• Shaping metal stock and castings to precise tolerances.
• Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes.
• Preparing pattern mechanisms for controlling textile machinery.
• Diagnosing faults and performing routine maintenance on machines.
• Potentially assembling and installing machines on-site.
