Job summary

AECOM's Water Infrastructure team in South-East Queensland is expanding, seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the region’s collaborative group. The role offers exposure to water, wastewater, and conveyance projects, with opportunities to network across the business and develop a career path with leading specialists in Australia, New Zealand and globally.

You will mentor engineers, drive design delivery, and maintain high standards of quality, safety and governance while building relationships

Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary degree, CPEng & RPEQ.
  • Extensive mechanical design experience in water and/or wastewater projects within a dynamic consulting and design environment.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and multidisciplinary teams, using strong commercial acumen and business analysis skills to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to build relationships and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to balance profitability, efficiency, and market insight.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and review mechanical design delivery across major water, wastewater, and conveyance projects.
  • Ensure technical and delivery excellence, maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, governance, and client satisfaction.
  • Guide and mentor engineers and designers, contributing to the growth of our talent pipeline whilst focusing on technical excellence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships working with various clients across a range of sectors.
