Job summary

Bayer Radiology is seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team and lead the design and development of innovative medical devices used by healthcare professionals worldwide.

In this senior technical leadership role, you will drive new product development, product enhancements, and sustaining engineering initiatives while collaborating with global teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and commercial functions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering.
• Extensive senior engineering experience in regulated industries.
• Experience leading mechanical design across development programs.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo.
• Experience in design control and regulated product development.
• Medical device development experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development from concept through design, verification, validation, manufacturing release and launch.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as a team leader.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams and support product launches in international markets.
• Lead mechanical design activities for new product development programs and product enhancements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Plan, manage, and coordinate engineering activities to meet project and business objectives.
• Drive investigation of field reliability issues, customer feedback and root cause analyses.
• Partner with Product Supply to resolve manufacturing, quality, supply chain issues.
• Define engineering requirements and lead design reviews throughout development lifecycle.
• Lead risk management and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Support continuous improvement of engineering and development processes.
