Airservices Australia is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical building services for critical aviation facilities such as Fire Stations, Control Towers, and Air Traffic Service Centres. You will provide technical leadership across design, construction, testing, and commissioning, coordinating with external consultants and stakeholders.

Based in Melbourne or Brisbane, with flexible hybrid work, the role offers delivery across lifecycle, mentorship of engineers, and opportunity

Qualificações

• 10+ years’ experience in mechanical building services engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• State-based engineering registration (e.g. RPEQ or RPEV), or the ability to obtain registration.
• Strong design knowledge across HVAC, ventilation, heating, and associated systems.
• Familiarity with mechanical plant including air compressors, generators, fuel systems, and BMS.
• Experience in high reliability sectors including data centres, defence, and healthcare.

Responsabilidades

• Lead medium to major mechanical building services projects from concept design through to construction, testing and commissioning.
• Be the discipline lead, taking ownership of mechanical engineering outcomes from concept design through to construction and testing.
• Work with external design consultants to review concept, schematic and detailed designs and ensure they meet Airservices requirements.
• Contribute to design reviews, coordinating feedback on behalf of Airservices.
• Support project managers in planning to meet scope, budget and program requirements.
• Communicate to senior management on project status, key risks, and dependencies.
• Undertake construction inspections to ensure compliance to the design and build requirements.
• Attend testing activities including site acceptance testing and user acceptance tests.
• Contribute to the overall engineering cohort, continuing to build a strong culture through learning and experience.
