Airswift is partnering with a leading engineering consultancy expanding its Data Centre capability across Australia. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead high‑performing teams and deliver mission‑critical projects in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

You will oversee HVAC and mechanical systems design, drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and contribute to strategic growth across landmark data centre developments in Victoria and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in building services consulting and data centre/critical facilities.
• Strong HVAC design and technical delivery capability.
• Experience delivering large-scale building or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and project delivery across data centre and critical facilities projects.
• Act as primary technical authority for HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Manage project stakeholders including clients, contractors and consultants.
• Review and approve engineering documentation, calculations and design deliverables.
• Provide mentorship to engineers within the team.
• Contribute to project strategy, resource planning and technical excellence initiatives.

Airswift is partnering with a leading engineering consultancy that is continuing to expand its Data Centre capability across Australia. With a strong project pipeline and growing demand within the digital infrastructure sector, our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of major mission‑critical developments. This position offers the opportunity to lead high‑performing project teams, influence technical outcomes, and work on some of Australia's most significant data centre projects. You'll be joining a well‑established national business known for delivering complex engineering solutions across the built environment, property, infrastructure, and critical facilities sectors.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across projects while acting as a trusted advisor to both clients and internal stakeholders. You'll oversee the design and delivery of sophisticated HVAC and mechanical services solutions, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical and commercial standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading mechanical design and project delivery across data centre and critical facilities projects.
• Acting as the primary technical authority for HVAC and mechanical systems.

About You

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience within building services consulting.
• Strong HVAC design and technical delivery capability.
• Experience delivering complex, large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
• Data centre, mission‑critical, healthcare or similar critical environment project experience highly regarded.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Chartered status or progress toward professional registration will be highly regarded.
