Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for Satellites (Starlink) to design structures, mechanisms, and automation equipment for high-volume satellite production. You will own projects from concept through fabrication, coordinating with flight design and production teams to parallelize satellite, factory, and process development.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, 5+ years of experience, and expertise in 3D CAD/2D drawings, with a focus

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
5+ years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with 3D CAD and 2D drawings.

Responsibilities

Design and develop structures, mechanisms and automation equipment to enable high volume production of Starlink Satellites
Demonstrate ownership of projects through entire lifecycle from concept to production bring-up
Balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Collaborate with flight design and production teams to develop satellite, factory and production processes in parallel
Solve complex problems with emphasis on speed and efficiency
Coordinate with internal resources and external vendors, maintaining project schedule and budget
Assemble and commission the equipment you design
