Job summary

Tonkin Consulting is seeking a Senior Maritime Structural Engineer to oversee the delivery of river, port and coastal infrastructure projects. You will lead all phases from concept through construction, ensuring technical excellence, financial performance, and stakeholder satisfaction.

You will manage multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers, and drive innovations in design and digital delivery while maintaining Tonkin’s high standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of structural engineering experience across buildings and/or infrastructure projects.
• Chartered status (MIEAust, CPEng) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proven expertise in design and delivery of concrete, structural steel, and composite structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead maritime and structural design and documentation for river, port and coastal infrastructure from concept to detailed design and construction.
• Oversee project financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
• Manage project scope, deliverables, and schedules with emphasis on quality, safety, and compliance.
• Drive communication and accountability across structural projects and ensure compliance with codes.
